Leandra English will be the CFPB’s chief of staff, returning to an agency she served previously as deputy chief operating officer and in other senior positions, the bureau announced today while also naming several other top staffers.
In a release, the agency also named several other top executives for the agency, including Jerry Horton as chief information officer, Paul Kantwill as assistant director for servicemember affairs, John McNamara as assistant director of consumer lending, reporting, and collections markets, and Elizabeth “Eli” Reilly as chief financial officer.
New Chief of Staff English most recently served as the principal deputy chief of staff at the Office of Personnel Management. She has also served as chief of staff and senior advisor to the deputy director of management at the Office of Management and Budget. In previous roles at CFPB (in addition to being deputy COO), she served as acting chief of staff, deputy chief of staff, and deputy associate director of external affairs.
Horton, before joining CFPB, started and led the Office of the Chief Architect for Department of State’s global information presence. Kantwill previously served as the director in the Office of Legal Policy, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel & Readiness at the Pentagon. McNamara previously served in the same capacity of his new role at the bureau in an acting role, and before that was the debt collection program manager at CFPB. Reilly previously served as the deputy chief financial officer at the Bureau, joining as one of the agency’s first employees in 2010.
