Current issues affecting community banking will be discussed at the Nov. 1 meeting of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.’s (FDIC) Advisory Committee on Community Banking. The public session begins at 9 a.m. ET and runs to 3 p.m.; it will be streamed live on the Internet (at http://fdic.windrosemedia.com). According to the FDIC, the committee was established by the bank deposit insurance agency to provide advice and recommendations on a broad range of policy issues that have an impact on small community banks throughout the United States and the local communities they serve, with a focus on rural areas.
