Electronic applications are open for the fiscal year 2018 round of “Bank Enterprise Award” (BEA) program, with two deadlines for making the submissions (reflecting the two-part aspect of the program).
According to the Treasury Department’s Community Development Financial Institution Fund (CDFI Fund), deadlines for making the two-part applications are:
- For Part I, by 11:59 p.m. ET Aug. 23 (must be submitted through Grants.gov);
- For Part II, by 5 p.m. ET Sept. 23 (must be submitted through the CDFI Fund’s Award Management Information System, or AMIS).
“Applicants should allow adequate time to submit both parts of the BEA Program Application Package in Grants.gov and AMIS,” the CDFI Fund said Tuesday in a release. “The CDFI Fund strongly recommends that instructions and application timelines be reviewed closely by both first-time and repeat applicants,” it added.
The CDFI Fund noted that all applicants, in order to apply for funding, must be registered in SAM.gov (“System for Award Management”), a federal government website that, among other things, allows entities to register to do business with the U.S. government. “Organizations should confirm that their accounts are up-to-date as soon as possible in order to avoid potential application submission problems. New applicants are encouraged to begin the registration process now,” the CDFI Fund said.
The agency also noted that “recent procedural changes to SAM.gov mean that the registration process may take much longer than in previous years for both new applicants and repeat applicants that need to renew their SAM.gov accounts.”
