Two September workshops for directors of national community banks and federal savings associations supervised by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will focus on compliance risk and operational risk, the OCC announced recently. Each of the two OCC workshops will be held in Houston at the Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport.
The Compliance Risk workshop is slated Sept. 25 and will address critical elements of an effective compliance risk management program. It will also focus on major compliance risks and critical regulations, OCC said. Up for discussion, among other things, are the Bank Secrecy Act, Flood Disaster Protection Act, Fair Lending, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, and Community Reinvestment Act.
The Operational Risk Workshop is slated Sept. 26 and will address key components of operational risk: people, processes, and systems. The workshop also covers governance, third-party risk, vendor management, internal fraud, and cybersecurity.
The workshop fee is $99; each workshop is limited to the first 35 registrants.
