The federal regulator of credit unions has selected Towanda Brooks to head its human resources operation, the agency announced Thursday.
Brooks, named director of the Office of Human Resources for the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), was most recently the chief human capital officer at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
NCUA said Brooks’ career also includes service in human resources at the Department of Commerce, the National Nuclear Security Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Secret Service, the Department of Agriculture, and the Library of Congress. She holds a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and a master’s degree from American University, the agency noted, and also received a professional certificate in executive leadership from Georgetown University.
