Bank and thrift industry earnings for the third quarter will be announced at a Tuesday press briefing scheduled by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC).
FDIC Board Chairman Jelena McWilliams is scheduled to present the results of the agency’s Quarterly Banking Profile for the third quarter at the briefing, which starts at 1 p.m. The event will also be webcast live.
The FDIC’s Quarterly Banking Profile is a quarterly publication that provides the earliest comprehensive summary of financial results for all FDIC-insured institutions. The agency refers to the profile as its “report card on industry status and performance,” and includes written analyses, graphs and statistical tables.
The profiles are typically published about 55 days after the end of each quarter (i.e., 55 days after March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31).
