There’s a website out there – FDIConnect.com – that bills itself as a consumer-focused provider of FDIC pass-through insurance for bank deposits, but the agency issued a warning Thursday that this website is not affiliated with the agency.
A similar warning was recently issued by the California Department of Business Oversight, the agency said.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) has its own website called FDIConnect.gov, a secure portal which allows bankers to download official FDIC correspondence and conduct secure file exchanges with the FDIC, the agency said in its warning. This site is not for individual bank customers, it notes.
