Directors and senior management of South Dakota and regional banks and thrifts can attend an Aug. 6-7 workshop on the roles and responsibilities of financial institution board participation. The session, set for the Holiday Inn Sioux Falls (in Sioux Falls, S.D.), according to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which is hosting the event, combines lectures, discussion, and exercises led by OCC supervision staff to provide practical information on the roles and responsibilities of board participation. The workshop focuses on duties and core responsibilities of directors and management, discusses major laws and regulations, and increases familiarity with the examination process, OCC said in a release. Titled “The Building Blocks: Keys to Success for Directors and Senior Management,” the workshop costs $99, which covers course materials, assorted supervisory publications, and lunch. The workshop is limited to the first 35 registrants.
