The economic outlook and monetary policy are the focus of a discussion slated Friday (Sept. 6) between Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome H. (“Jay”) Powell and Thomas J. Jordan, chairman of the Swiss National Bank, during an event hosted by the Swiss Institute of International Studies, University of Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland.
The Powell-Jordan discussion is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed live via the Swiss bank’s “Research TV” channel.
The Federal Reserve’s own Fed Listens program also continues Wednesday (Sept. 4) at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, with introductory remarks provided by Fed Board Member Michelle (“Miki”) Bowman. St. Louis Fed President James Bullard will also give remarks.
The Fed Listens events, held throughout the Fed’s 12 bank districts, are part of an effort this year to assess the Fed’s monetary policy strategy, tools and communication practices.
