The new deputy director for external affairs and communications for the federal credit union regulator is a former congressional staffer – most recently for the senior senator from Nebraska.
In a release, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) said Michael A. Sinacore would take on the role at the agency Sept. 16 and that he will report to Lenwood Brooks, NCUA Chairman Rodney Hood’s acting chief of staff.
Sinacore was most recently legislative assistant on economic policy for Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.). He has also worked for Reps. Dave Trott (R-Mich.) and Bruce Poliquin (R-Maine), both members of the Financial Services Committee, focusing in those offices on financial services and taxation.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and Middle Eastern studies from Boston College and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
