The filing instructions guide (FIG) for data collected in 2020 for reporting in 2021 under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) is available now, along with a new Supplemental Guide for Quarterly Filers, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) said Wednesday.
The new supplemental guide is to help those institutions required to file HMDA data quarterly beginning in 2020. The CFPB’s 2015 final HMDA rule requires that beginning Jan. 1, 2020, financial institutions that reported a combined total of at least 60,000 applications and covered loans, excluding purchased covered loans, for the preceding calendar year must begin to file HMDA data quarterly.
