Advisory council and board meetings previously scheduled to begin Wednesday have been canceled by the federal consumer financial protection agency, the agency said on its website.
According to reports, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) canceled the meetings due to travel restrictions emanating from the coronavirus public health concerns. No rescheduling has yet been announced by the agency.
The bureau’s Consumer Advisory Board (CAB), Community Bank Advisory Council (CBAC), and Credit Union Advisory Council (CUAC) were scheduled to discuss broad policy matters related to the bureau’s unified reg agenda and general scope of authority. The Academic Research Council was scheduled to meet Friday; that meeting also is canceled.
The meetings would have been the first of the year for the groups.
