The federal agencies that charter and insure the nation’s banks and savings institutions have both created website pages with links to federal guidance issued so far to financial institutions, and more, regarding the coronavirus known as COVID-19.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) added links from their home pages to these resources. Resources available include federal financial regulatory guidance as well as links to guidance provided through other federal agencies and the World Health Organization.
“The FDIC is working with federal and state banking agencies, as well as, financial institutions to consider all reasonable and prudent steps to assist customers in communities affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). In addition, the agency is monitoring information issued by international and U.S. health organizations,” the FDIC notes in an intro to its info page.
