A panel formed within Treasury to advise the agency’s financial research office will hold an open meeting July 16 to discuss passive investing as well as hedge fund trades and U.S. Treasury market illiquidity, according to the tentative agenda provided in a Federal Register notice slated for publication Thursday.
This will be the 16th meeting of the Treasury Financial Research Advisory Committee, which provides advice to the Treasury Office of Financial Research (OFR). The OFR was established under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank) to promote financial stability through its support of the Financial Stability Oversight Council. The OFR measures and analyzes financial system risks, performs essential research, and collects and standardizes financial data.
The July 16 advisory committee meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. and will be conducted online via Zoom. Meeting registration is required in advance.
