Federally insured credit unions can register now for a two-hour webinar slated by their federal regulator July 23 on financial inclusion for persons with disabilities and the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Hosted by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the 2 p.m. (ET) webinar will include a discussion on how organizations can expand their efforts to ensure disabled persons have equal access to opportunities and resources, the agency said in a release. The discussion features NCUA Chairman Rodney Hood; Michael Morris, director of the National Disability Institute; and Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, a disabilities rights advocate and president of the nonprofit organization RespectAbility.
“As we commemorate the anniversary of the ADA, the NCUA reaffirms its commitment to creating an inclusive work environment for all employees and ensuring equal access to the 12.2 percent of our staff who report having a disability,” Hood said in a statement in Friday’s release. “We are committed to providing access to services, tools, and needed resources to perform their jobs effectively and reach their full career potential.”
