Registration is open for a Sept. 8 webinar for credit unions on their federal regulator’s modernized examination tools, which were described last week in an agency Letter to Credit Unions.
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) said the webinar, slated for 2 p.m. ET and expected to last one hour, will focus on the NCUA’s new modern examination platforms and systems, including the agency’s Modern Examination & Risk Identification Tool (MERIT).
The agency said the webinar will discuss the benefits of these systems to credit unions and federal and state examiners. It will also cover:
- Data Exchange Application (DEXA) — A web-based application credit unions can use to provide member loan and share data to the NCUA for examination purposes.
- NCUA Connect — The common entry point for authorized users to securely access NCUA’s applications, like MERIT and others.
- Admin Portal — A secure portal tat provides state regulatory agencies and credit unions access to NCUA Connect and other examination-related applications.
“The NCUA should be innovative, forward-thinking, and risk-focused,” NCUA Chairman Todd Harper said in a statement with Thursday’s release. “MERIT and its related systems are just that, and they will be the foundation for the agency’s examination program going forward. I encourage stakeholders across the federally insured credit union system to register and participate in this important webinar.”
