A webinar for banks on consumer complaints management is slated Oct. 5 by the federal bank deposit insurer’s depositor and consumer protection division, according to a Financial Institution Letter issued Monday.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said its staff will, during the webinar:
- cover how the FDIC receives and manages complaints about FDIC-supervised institutions, the most recent data on those complaints, and how the FDIC uses complaint data to further supervision efforts; and
- provide analysis on compliance areas that receive the most consumer complaints and information that banks can use to support effective complaints management.
A question-and-answer session follows the staff presentation. The agency said it is encouraging institutions to submit questions prior to the teleconference via email to BankTeleconference@FDIC.gov.
