The future of innovation in banking is the topic a panel of experts will tackle Dec. 8 in a session hosted by the technology laboratory of the federal bank deposit insurance fund, the agency said Thursday.
The event, set to begin at 1 p.m. ET (and live-streamed via the Internet), is open to the public.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) said the panel discussion, scheduled for three hours, will focus on the potential effects of future financial innovation on markets, technology and inclusion. According to the agency, that includes exploring “how certain innovations preserve and promote a diverse, equitable and inclusive banking system.”
Led by Sultan Meghji, FDIC chief innovation officer (and leader of the agency’s FDITECH lab), the panelists are scheduled to include senior FDIC leadership and banking industry experts.
