Showcasing public- and private-sector efforts to preserve and promote minority depository institutions (MDIs) and advance diversity and inclusion across financial services is the aim of a series of podcasts jointly planned by the federal bank deposit insurance agency and a trade group for minority-owned banks.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) and the National Bankers Association (NBA) – which describes itself as “an association of minority-owned banks working to eliminate the racial wealth gap” – said the podcast series titled “Banking on Inclusion” will “discuss the important role of minority-owned and -operated institutions within the broader financial services sector.”
The FDIC said the podcast series is part of an ongoing collaboration between the FDIC and the NBA “to raise topics impacting our nation’s minority-owned and -operated banks.”
