The “Large Bank Supervision” booklet of the national bank regulator’s supervisory handbook has been updated and rescinds the previous booklet of the same title from September 2019. The agency said Tuesday.
In its Bulletin 2022-6, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) said the updated Comptroller’s Handbook booklet includes a revised core assessment that will be effective for core assessment summaries using financial information as of March 31, 2022.
Updates are summarized in the “Table of Updates Since Publication” in the back of the booklet, the agency said. It said the revised booklet, among other things, includes clarifying updates to “clearly set expectations related to preparing and documenting” the core assessment summary; combines information about the core assessment and risk assessment system into the “Core Assessment” section; and updates the core assessment factors and sub-factors for consistency across risk areas.
Additionally, it said the revised booklet reflects other OCC sources that have been issued or updated since the booklet was last updated; and clarifies differences between the annual core assessment summary and quarterly supervision updates.
