A 2017 booklet of the Comptroller’s Handbook that addresses supervised banks’ commercial real estate (CRE) lending activity has been rescinded and replaced, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) said in a bulletin Tuesday.
The booklet, the agency said, discusses risks and risk management practices associated with CRE and provides examiners a framework for evaluating such activity.
This new, version 2.0 of the booklet replaces version 1.1 (same title) issued in January 2017. Also rescinded is OCC Bulletin 2013-19, “Commercial Real Estate Lending: Comptroller’s Handbook Revisions and Rescissions,” which transmitted version 1.0 of the booklet of the same title issued in August 2013, the agency said.
The OCC said the revised booklet reflects changes to laws and regulations, and OCC issuances published and rescinded, since this booklet was last updated. It also makes clarifying edits.
