Mutual savings associations, and their health and viability, are the subject of a June 27 meeting of the committee on the institutions, sponsored by the federal regulator of national banks.

In a release Friday, the Office of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) said a public meeting of its Mutual Savings Association Advisory Committee (MSAAC) will be held that day, beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The meeting is open to the public, although an RSVP is required.

The committee, the agency said, is aimed at advising regulator or other changes that OCC may make to ensure the well-being and sustainability of the mutually owned financials.

Written statements from the public may also be submitted to the committee and are due by 5 p.m. ET on June 22.
