How, and what, savings are federally insured at credit unions will be addressed at an April 13 webinar conducted by their federal regulator.
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) said the hour-long session gets underway at 2 p.m. ET and will focus on:
- Types of accounts covered by share insurance;
- What happens to share insurance coverage when credit unions merge;
- What happens to insurance of accounts if a member dies; and
- General information about trusts.
Savings in federally insured credit unions are covered by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a program funded by credit unions through capitalization shares and premiums, when necessary.
Registration for the event is now open, NCUA said, and there is no charge.
