A capital markets symposium featuring speakers from two Federal Home Loan Banks, the vice chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, credit unions and investment firms will be held Tuesday at the NYSE and hosted by National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board Member Rodney Hood.
Attendance will be in person and virtual; by the time of the NCUA’s own announcement Friday, whatever “free” tickets had been offered for the event were “sold out,” according to a program page on the NCUA website. Registration was still being taken for virtual attendance.
Hood, whose term on the NCUA Board expires this August, is slated to provide five minutes of opening remarks.
The NCUA said the symposium, slated to run from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (closing bell) Eastern, will address topics such as managing liquidity risks; utilizing derivatives contracts and interest rate swaps; accessing capital markets for asset securitizations; and using subordinated debt and secondary capital strategically.
Among the speakers will be CFTC Chairman Rostin Behnam, New York FHLB President José González, and Atlanta FHLB President Kirk Malmberg, the agency said.
