Workshops on risk governance and capital markets are on tap July 11-12 in Denver by the regulator of national banks, the agency said Wednesday. The workshops are geared toward directors, senior management and other key executives of banks.
According to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the July 11 Risk Governance: Improving Effectiveness workshop combines lectures, discussion, and exercises to provide practical information for participants to effectively identify, measure, monitor, and control risk. The workshop also focuses on the OCC’s approach to risk-based supervision and major risks in the financial industry, the agency said.
The following day, July 12, the agency hosts the Capital Markets: Keeping Current workshop. The half-day event is designed to help bank leadership better understand balance sheet management risks such as interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and risks associated with the investment portfolio, OCC said. Additionally, the workshop will discuss quantifying balance sheet risk related to assets and liabilities, according to the agency.
Cost of the July 11 event is $99, which includes course materials, supervisory materials, and lunch. The half-day July 12 event on Capital Markets costs $49, which is waived for participants also attending the previous day’s workshop.
Registration and the schedule for both events is available on the OCC’s website.
