The $6.3 million-assets Yonkers Postal Employees Credit Union of Yonkers, N.Y., was conserved Friday by the state’s financial services department, which appointed the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) as conservator.
The NCUA, announcing the conservatorship, said member services will continue uninterrupted. It gave no specific reason for the conservatorship.
Yonkers Postal Employees Credit Union is a federally insured, state-chartered credit union, the agency said. It said the credit union’s most recent call report shows it has 486 members and approximately $6.3 million in assets.
The credit union serves employees of the United States Postal Service, primarily located in Yonkers, N.Y., the agency said. NCUA information shows the institution was chartered in 1933.
