A minority depository institutions subcommittee is set to meet Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. Eastern, hosted by Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) Chairman Martin Gruenberg, the agency said in a meeting notification Wednesday.
The meeting is being held for the Minority Depository Institutions (MDI) Subcommittee of the FDIC’s Advisory Committee on Community Banking (CBAC). The subcommittee provides advice to the CBAC on the agency’s MDI program and serves as a source of feedback for FDIC strategies to fulfill its statutory goals to preserve and promote MDIs.
The FDIC said that on Oct. 4, subcommittee members will share insights into economic trends and key challenges and opportunities facing their communities and institutions and provide feedback on topics affecting MDIs. The meeting will also spotlight the work of the banking industry and private entities that support MDIs and community development financial institutions (CDFIs), it said.
The public portion of the meeting will be viewable by webcast; to view that session, send an email to MDIProgram@fdic.gov.
