CFPB’s consumer panel to meet May 15

A public meeting of the Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) of the federal consumer financial protection agency is slated for May 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern.

CAB is charged with advising and consulting with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in the exercise of the agency’s functions under federal consumer financial laws, according to the meeting notice published in Thursday’s Federal Register. The notice says the meeting will focus on “broad policy matters related to the Bureau’s Unified Regulatory Agenda and general scope of authority.” A detailed agenda will be available on the CFPB website the day prior to the meeting, it states.

The meeting will be held virtually; members of the public will receive the agenda and dial-in information when they RSVP. The CFPB said also that written comments will be accepted if received at least seven days ahead of the meeting; comments should be emailed to CFPB_CABandCouncilsEvents@cfpb.gov.
