Need to talk technology issues with credit union regulator? Agency sets up August, November office hours

Scheduling time to discuss credit union financial technology with their federal regulator will be possible with “office hours” set up by the agency, it said Wednesday.

The office hours will be Aug. 20-22 and Nov. 12-14, the agency said.

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) said the office hours will be available to credit union representatives, financial technology companies, and credit union associations. Potential areas of discussion, NCUA said in a release, include emerging technology in credit unions, fintech inquiries from credit unions, financial inclusion through technology inquiries, and “general questions or points of discussion related to barriers experienced by credit unions and fintech companies when interacting with one another.”

The office hours are sponsored by NCUA’s financial technology and access group. Submission requests to speak to the group will be open 60 days prior to the upcoming office hours in August and November. Requests submitted outside of that timeframe will not be considered, NCUA said.

Meeting times will be limited to 30 minutes, NCUA said.

“Due to a potential high volume of requests, the Fintech and Access team will make their best effort to accommodate meeting times during your requested office hour period,” NCUA said. “If the team is unable to meet at the requested time or fulfill your request, we invite you to request a meeting during a future open office hours period.”

Questions concerning the office hours should be sent to fintechmail@ncua.gov, the agency said.
