OCC’s MDI panel set to meet Sept. 24

A public meeting of the national bank regulator’s advisory committee on minority depository institutions (MDIs) is slated for Sept. 24 and will be hosted by the agency in person and virtually, the agency said Wednesday.

The Minority Depository Institution Advisory Committee (MDIAC) advises the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on steps the agency may be able to take to ensure the continued health and viability of MDIs and other issues of concern to that group.

Set to begin at 8:30 a.m. Eastern, the MDIAC’s Sept. 24 meeting will include a discussion of current regulatory and operational topics of interest to the industry and a roundtable discussion with advisory committee members and OCC staff, a draft Federal Register notice states.

Written statements may be submitted to the MDIAC by email to MDIAC@occ.treas.gov. The OCC said it must receive written statements no later than 5 p.m. Eastern Sept. 19.
