The federal bank deposit insurer’s governing board is set to meet Tuesday in open session on a final policy statement on bank merger transactions and a proposed rule related to custodial accounts and deposit insurance.
The latter item is described in the meeting notice as a proposal on “custodial accounts with transaction features and prompt payment of deposit insurance to depositors.” The bank merger policy is slated to be taken up following that item.
The FDIC Board issued proposed changes to its policy on bank merger transactions in March; the public comment period closed in June.
The open meeting, set to begin at 10 a.m., will be open to public observation only via webcast.
