Overseeing a “wide range of administrative services” in support of the federal insurer of bank deposits’ business activities will be the focus of a new administrator at the agency, it said Tuesday.
Jennifer Schoen was selected as director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.’s (FDIC) Division of Administration (DOA), the agency said. In addition to overseeing administrative services, she will also supervise operation and management of agency facilities, personnel and physical security programs, and acquisition services.
Schoen will also provide strategic guidance to “ensure the agency is prepared for and effectively responds to emergencies and advise the FDIC’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and other senior leaders on matters related to facilities, security, capital improvements and maintenance, and procurement,” the FDIC said.
Schoen is now an assistant director in DOA, the FDIC said. She joined the FDIC in 2006 as a procurement analyst. She joined the federal government in 2001 at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as a procurement analyst and contracting officer.
She holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and a B.A. in political science from Union College. She holds a certification for the senior executive fellows program from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
