The unbanked and underbanked will be the subject of a Nov. 13 meeting for the economic inclusion committee of the federal insurer of bank deposits, the agency said Wednesday.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.’s (FDIC) Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion (ComE-IN) will meet in Washington, D.C., beginning at 9 a.m. A presentation of the data from the 2023 FDIC Household Survey of the Unbanked and Underbanked highlights the agenda, the agency said.
Also included on the agenda: a discussion of qualitative research results on consumer perspectives on financial services and banking, followed by an overview of the proposed FDIC Rulemaking on Custodial Deposit Accounts with Transaction Features and Prompt Payment of Deposit Insurance to Depositors.
FDIC Board Chairman Martin Gruenberg, other members of the FDIC Board, and senior agency leadership are expected to participate in the meeting along with the committee members.
