New credit union in Georgia is fourth chartered by regulator this year

There is a new federally chartered credit union in Atlanta, Ga., which will serve persons in Austell, Ga., a low-income community, the federal credit union regulator said Wednesday.

Soul Community Federal Credit Union (FCU) in Austell is the fourth credit union chartered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the agency said. NCUA said the charter took effect Dec. 9.

The credit union expects to open its doors for business early next year; it will offer members basic savings and lending services, the agency said (which include share savings accounts, share draft [checking] accounts, online banking, auto loans and personal loans).
