A long-time credit union industry insider is now the chief of staff for its federal regulator, the chairman of the agency’s board announced Wednesday.
Sarah Bang was named to the position, which also carries the title senior policy advisor, by National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board Chairman Kyle Hauptman. She has served as Hauptman’s senior policy advisor since he joined the agency’s board in December 2020.
Before joining NCUA, Bang held several positions in the credit union industry, primarily at service organizations focusing on payments and member service centers. According to a release by NCUA, Bank has nearly 40 years’ experience among credit unions.
